Risks of smoking before and after plastic surgery

Dr. Francisco Amaya, the best plastic surgeon in Mexicali and head of the Plastic Surgery program at Hispano Americano Hospital, shared some valuable information regarding smoking before and after having plastic surgery in Mexicali.

Smoking causes, aside from tobacco related issues, problems for healing after Plastic Surgery in Mexicali. A non-smoker will take about a week or a week and a half to heal after a tummy tuck or any other procedure. A smoker causes healing to take longer and to be weaker that it would in normal patients. Tobacco causes and impairment in the blood vessels to the oxygen to be delivered to the wound, slowing the amount of it thus slowing healing.

That’s why we ask patients to stop smoking at least one month before surgery. If a patients won’t keep smoking we most likely will not perform the operation because we know these problems will arise. You can find a lot of information in the internet, as well as other tobacco related diseases.

For more information on this and other questions related to having plastic surgery in Mexicali, please visit Hispano Americano Hospital’s website at hispanohospital.com or call us toll free at 888 698 2244.

Post op Dr. Francisco Amaya's patient testimonial

A few weeks ago, Paulina underwent breast augmentation surgery in Mexicali under Dr. Francisco Amaya, board certified surgeon and director of our Plastic Surgery program at Hispano Americano Hospital. Before going into surgery, Paulina always felt confident with the care she received both by the staff and by Dr. Amaya himself.

In her own words:

I have no words to describe my experience with Dr. Francisco Amaya and my breast augmentation surgery. Since we met, he treated me the way I expected: professional, friendly, and patient. He answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable in every way.  While I was at the hospital, he visited my room and talked with my family explaining every detail, my mother loved him. If for any reason in a couple of years I decide on having a new surgery, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose him again.
Being my first time in an operating room and in a hospital, I can’t deny that I was extremely nervous, however, my anxiety eased right after I entered Hispano Americano Hospital. I definitely owe it to the staff and the nurses that took care of me and my family. The room was comfortable, the nurses were very nice and were constantly reviewing and making sure that everything was in order. They answered all my emerging questions in a very warm and friendly manner. I feel very thankful for the patient coordinator and the whole staff that helped me achieve my so desired surgery. My experience was great thanks to them, the best hospital, and the BEST doctor, Francisco Amaya.

Paulina is now recovering from her breast augmentation surgery and everything is going according to Dr. Amaya's schedule. As for now, she is feeling better and happy about her new looks.

Plastic Surgery in Mexico: myths and horror stories

Plastic Surgery in Mexico Horror Stories
Pl

Disfigured faces, implant rupture, near-death experiences... all because she crossed the border to get plastic surgery in Mexico. The image is horrible: you arrive at a dusty and shady clinic in a dimly lit place, you are welcomed by a poorly shaven obese doctor with alcoholic breath, dirty surgical instruments all over the place, nurses drawn from a cantina in a Mexican border town... Hell on earth.

These are some of the things that come to mind when thinking about plastic surgery in Mexico. Reality is quite different, despite things we may read in the media. Last year a story was published of two women from Texas who visited a hospital in Tijuana to have a cheap plastic surgery. The outcome was appalling. Not only they obviously didn't get the breast augmentation in Mexico they expected, but they could’ve even lose their lives.

Sometimes common sense is the least common of the senses. If you hear something too good to be true, maybe it is. If you see a "hospital" located in a mall with an image that radiates lack of seriousness, plus cheap services that promise miracles, maybe it is not a good idea to put your life in the hands of that place.

But we need to set the record straight. In Mexico, as in the United States, there are all kinds of services, from dark and shady businesses all the way to certified surgeons working in recognized establishments with standards up to par with the best health care institutions in the United States and Canada. At Hispano Americano Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico, our plastic surgery program is led by board certified surgeon Dr. Francisco Amaya, who has extensive experience in thousands of American and Canadian patients, plus a renowned innovative technique due to his practice under the best surgeons in the region. Breast augmentation in Mexicali is both safe and more affordable than its American counterpart. Dr. Amaya is also highly qualified in reconstructive surgery.

The right size of implants for Breast Augmentation Surgery in Mexicali

Making the decision to undergo breast augmentation in Mexicali can be much easier than choosing the size of the breast implants.

Personal taste, body proportions and the expected look to have after breast augmentation are determining factors when choosing breast implant size. Of course, you must take into account the opinion of a board certified plastic surgeon and a set of realistic expectations for this surgery so you can guarantee that you will get the bust you've always wanted. At Hispano Americano Hospital in Mexicali, Dr. Francisco Amaya has the experience and qualifications to guide you through this process.

When it comes to choosing a breast imlants with all quality certifications necessary, think that these are appropriate to the proportions of your body, so it is very important to consider your own physical characteristics such as the size of your ribcage, chest shape and natural breast volume, to determine what the size of the implants is.

The evaluation of a plastic surgeon like Dr. Amaya is essential, so you should also take into account certain conditions, like your skin type and even determine if you have enough tissue to cover the breast implant.

Talk to him or her about your preferences about breast size. Show him pictures or photographs of people who have breasts the size you want, so that your surgeon has more specifics about your operation. Tell him how you'd like to see and try to describe the most of what you want.

Once you expose your views listen to what your surgeon has to say. If he thinks, basing his point of view from professional experience, that your selection is too large or vice versa, pay close attention to the reasons, this specialist will know more than anyone what better suits you.

Talk with him about the implant surface and its form. The most common options are smooth or textured surface, each having their pros and cons that must be considered. The shapes of breast implant, in turn, typically includes a two-dimensional anatomical tear shaped contour, with the shape of a natural breast that's considered anatomically correct.

Remember that deciding to undergo breast augmentation surgery in Mexicali and choosing the size of the breast implants is a completely personal decision, not your partner's, your friends' or anyone else can make this decision for you.

You are having Breast Augmentation Surgery in Mexicali: Silicone or Saline based implants?

Silicone or Saline based implants?

There are two implant options at the time of making a breast augmentation surgery in Mexicali: silicone based and saline solution. The biggest difference between saline and silicone breast implants is the content of both. Saline implants are filled with a sterile saline fluid. Silicone breast implants are filled with a cohesive silicone gel, making it more unlikely that implants have a sense of waves or other problems associated with the content.

When put into the body, body heat causes the silicone implants to soften and become gelatinous. Sometimes women are led to believe that silicones are better for appearance purposes, when in fact they are the same. Actually there is no difference in appearance.

At Hispanic American Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico, we offer breast augmentation surgery in our program of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Francisco Amaya, board certified surgeon and one of the most innovative physicians in the region, uses silicone implants for our patients. This is due to several factors:

• The silicone gel implants feel more like natural breast tissue
• Silicone implants are less likely to cause ripples in the skin around the breast
• The silicone gel implants are available in a variety of sizes, shapes and textures
• Manufacturer Warranty Lifetime Replacement
• Saline implants are not as smooth or natural feeling as silicone gel implants
• Saline breast implants are more likely to create a ripple in the skin of the chest

Breast augmentation surgery in Mexicali by Dr. Francisco Amaya is becoming one of the favorite options for many women in the United States and Canada. Dr. Amaya is well known for his superb technique, always up to date with the latest in Plastic Surgery. Hispano Americano Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico, is also a renowned medical institution with high quality facilities together with a warm, friendly and professional staff.

Plastic Surgery, an alternative solution against bullying

Plastic surgery can help bullied teens

Being a teenager is tough. It is a time of much confusion, uncertainty, fear and emotional insecurity. Adolescents deal with many things that adults sometimes do not realize, which makes their problems become even bigger. Recently the topic of bullying has taken much more attention in the media and rightly so. Teenagers can also be inconsiderate and even cruel to their peers.

Kids make fun of other kids all the time. Sometimes because they’re fat, sometimes because of their nose, their ears, an ugly scar… Recently we have been hearing of cases of bullying ending even in tragedy, but let’s not go that far: to destroy the life of a person.

One way to help a young person to face this problem is plastic surgery in Mexicali. Many teenagers were born with some relatively minor physical defect that alters their appearance to the degree of influencing their personality. These types of problems can be corrected with surgery.

However, the price of plastic surgery is too high for a large part of the population. Fortunately, plastic surgery in Mexicali is reliable and of high quality, besides it is affordable to thousands of people who are not covered by your health plan.
In Hispanic American Hospital in Mexicali, Dr. Francisco Amaya has one of the most modern practices in the city, with extensive experience thanks to a high workload on thousands of patients from places such as Southern California, . Besides, the hospital is conveniently located a few meters from the border.
Plastic surgery in Mexicali is not the solution to adolescent bullying. We need to have better education and prevention policies. But a relatively simple surgery itself can radically change the life of a teen by helping him to build self-esteem and regain confidence in himself.

Having a Tummy Tuck in Mexico

Having a Tummy Tuck in Mexico

Abdominoplasty, also called tummy tuck, is an operation to cut the excess skin and fat in the abdominal area.
It is indicated for people lost a lot of weight in a short time after any surgical procedure as bariatric surgery, and now have excess skin that hangs around the abdominal area; It is also recommended for women who have had multiple pregnancies, after which the abdomen was left with sagging, excess skin and / or stretch marks.
As with any plastic surgery, a tummy tuck also involves risks, although they are rare and can mostly be corrected later. Some are: loss of sensitivity, small irregularities, infection, or scarring. At Hispano Americano Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico, board certified surgeon Dr. Francisco Amaya leads the Plastic Surgery Department, where we guarantee a high quality and professional service in the hands of an expert team of physicians working in high quality facilities.
Besides, Mexicali is a safe, quiet and friendly city right at the border with California, a city where thousands of American and Canadian patients flock each year to have a tummy tuck and other surgical procedures.
Abdominoplasty is not a way to lose weight. Ideally you should use this once healthy diet and exercise have not worked or when there is excess skin.
The end results are a flatter abdomen, although not in all cases it will be completely flat. This depends on the initial state of the patient. If the person is at their ideal weight the result will be an almost completely flat abdomen, if you are overweight it is greatly improved but is not completely flat.

Advantages Of Having Plastic Surgery in Mexico

Advantages Of Having Plastic Surgery in Mexico

Plastic surgery is a procedure that requires the skill and experience of a certified physician. Besides, it is important that the surgery is performed in suitable facilities, taking into account the highest standards of care to ensure the health of a patient.

However, plastic surgery is not affordable for millions of American and Canadian patients because of the high cost of health services in North America. Fortunately, Mexico is an alternative for many of them. But is it safe?

We have probably read or heard of a surgery that went wrong in Mexico. Chances are that we have also heard about the problems of violence that that country faces, however there are several things to take into consideration:

1. Good and bad doctors exist worldwide. If we do our research, we will also find about botched surgeries and other accidents that have occurred in the United States and in Europe.

2. Mexico is a big country, so the problem of criminality differs a lot from region to region. In fact, cities like Mexicali have a lower crime rate than major cities in the United States like Detroit, Baltimore, or even Washington D.C.

3. Institutions such as Hispano Americano Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico, have a high workload of surgeries due to the thousands of American and Canadian patients that visit the city each year.

The team of plastic surgeons led by Dr. Francisco Amaya at Hispano Americano Hospital has both, the certifications and experience to perform procedures such as a face lift and breast augmentation. Other procedures include body contouring after weight loss surgery which corrects the sagging skin via a tummy tuck.

Are You Ready For Plastic Surgery After a Weight Loss Procedure?

Are You Ready For Plastic Surgery After a Weight Loss Procedure?

Many severely overweight people who have tried several weight loss programs with little or no success turn to bariatric surgery as a solution for their problem. Bariatric surgery, a broad term that covers several types of gastric procedures such as the gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass, works by reducing the size of the stomach to limit intake of calories or lowering the amount of calories that your body can absorb. These methods quite often produce extreme weight loss, however, this dramatic thinning may cause other aesthetic problems. Patients are often left with loose, sagging skin that no longer has the elasticity to accommodate a slimmer shape.
Unfortunately, sometimes neither exercise nor diet will help tighten loose skin, however plastic surgery can.
If you meet these criteria, you may be a candidate for plastic surgery:
  • Bariatric Surgery was performed at least a year ago.
  • Weight loss goal has been achieved.
  • Your weight has been stable for at least 3 months.
  • Recent evaluation by a bariatric surgeon and a plastic surgeon.
Plastic surgery should be performed by certified surgeons in a secure hospital with facilities that meet high standards of care. Plastic surgery in Mexico is safe and affordable when performed in hospitals like Hispano Americano, where the latest technology is utilized and professional staff is ready to assist you. Our program is led by Dr. Francisco Amaya, board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in the field due to his high workload on hundreds of American and Canadian patients.
If you think you are a candidate for plastic surgery and want to regain your figure, feel free to visit us at hispanohospital.com or call us toll free at 888-698-2244 to receive more information.
